Japan is home to more than 2,200 golf courses, making it one of the world's top golfing destinations. From beautifully maintained championship courses to incredible hospitality, golfing in Japan is an experience unlike anywhere else. During my 6 week internship with Tokyo Family Stays, I had the opportunity to experience a premium golf day with Elite Golf Japan, and it completely changed my perspective on what a golf trip can be.

If you're traveling to Japan and hoping to play golf, navigating transportation, booking tee times, and understanding local customs can seem overwhelming. After spending a day with Elite Golf Japan, I realized just how easy and enjoyable the experience can be when everything is taken care of for you.

From Hotel Pickup to the First Tee

The day began with an early morning, 6:45 am pickup in Shibuya by Elite Golf Japan founder, Toshi Okamichi. Instead of worrying about how to navigate stations with your clubs or finding transportation to the course, all I had to do was bring my golf clubs and enjoy the ride. Just over an hour later, we arrived at Cheung Kong Golf Club in Chiba, where the staff immediately greeted us and unloaded our golf bags from the car.

From the moment we arrived, every detail was handled seamlessly. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff guided us through everything. During check-in I was given a locker key, which served as my payment method throughout the day, making every purchase, from range balls to lunch completely cashless.

It was refreshing not having to think about logistics. Everything had already been arranged, allowing me to focus on what I came for; enjoying a great day of golf.

Inside Round of Golf in Japan

After warming up on the practice range, it was time to tee off. The first thing that stood out to me was the incredible condition of the course. The fairways were perfectly manicured, the greens rolled beautifully. No matter the course I played on in Japan, every hole showcased the level of care that Japanese golf courses are known for.

Playing alongside Toshi also gave me the opportunity to learn more about golf culture in Japan and why so many international golfers are beginning to discover it. The pace of play was relaxed, the courses were incredibly peaceful, and every member of the staff made us feel welcomed.

One of the most unique parts of Japanese golf is stopping for lunch after the front nine. Instead of grabbing a quick snack at the turn, we enjoyed a delicious Japanese meal in the clubhouse overlooking the course before heading back out to play the final nine holes. It's a tradition that makes the round feel less rushed and adds to the overall experience.

After finishing 18 holes, we headed to the clubhouse's bathing facilities, a signature part of golfing in Japan. Relaxing and rinsing off after the round before heading back to Tokyo was the perfect way to end the day.

Why Elite Golf Japan Makes the Difference

While the golf itself was outstanding, what impressed me most was how effortless the entire experience felt.

Traveling to a golf course in Japan can be intimidating for international visitors. Many courses are located outside major cities, transportation can be complicated, and booking tee times isn't always straightforward for visitors. Elite Golf Japan removes those challenges by organizing every part of the day.

From transportation and tee times to communication with the golf club, everything was already planned before I arrived. Instead of spending time figuring out directions or worrying about reservations, I was able to simply enjoy the experience.

That level of service allowed me to fully appreciate what makes golfing in Japan so special.

Having golfed both on my own in Japan and through Elite Golf Japan, I can honestly say that using a company dedicated to creating premium golf experiences makes all the difference. Their local knowledge, attention to detail, and seamless planning transformed what could have been a stressful day into one of the highlights of my summer.

If you're visiting Japan and want to experience some of the country's incredible golf courses, I highly recommend adding a round to your itinerary. And if you're looking for the easiest, most enjoyable way to do it, Elite Golf Japan makes the entire experience effortless, allowing you to focus on what matters most—enjoying world-class golf in one of the most beautiful golfing destinations in the world.
